Psalm 139 is a lovely, prayerful Psalm of David. Reading this passage can certainly give a believer a shot of confidence and a taste of the Father’s Love. These verses assure us that our Father is not absent or distracted when it comes to His creation— that’s you & me. He has His eye on us & knows what we have on our minds. He truly cares about our thoughts. In fact, even when we might try to hide or cover our shame, our distress, our actions, He still knows where & how we are. And instead of judgement, He takes us by the hand and guides us into His Light & covers us with His Grace. He is our Creator. He has made us with love & reverence. God intricately wove me together with complexity and beauty. He knows my inmost parts. That means He knows our bodies better than we do. He can heal our minds and bodies better than the most gifted surgeon. And what’s more, He wants to… He wants us to come to Him, for our most intimate requests. Our God is thinking of us. So much that His thoughts can’t be measured. He doesn’t sleep or forget or turn away. He saw us & knew us before our Mamas did. I have thought many times that I didn’t understand how someone could function without knowing God was there. What does one do? David spoke of God’s enemies. It made him a little angry that anyone would do anything but honor our Holy God. But at the same time, in the last few verses, I think David realized that he, too, could fall victim to the attitudes of the unfaithful. So he asks the Lord to search his heart and uncover any unrighteousness, anything that God might find offensive in his spirit. He craved the leading and the love of the Father.
I pray the same— for me & for you. That God would keep our minds on Him as His mind is on us. How wonderful is that thought?🥰
From the Red Dirt, Grace & Peace to you, wonderfully complex friend. ❤️
