🎶Through this world of toils and snares, if I falter, Lord, who cares?🎶

This line from the old hymn, “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” mirrors the hearts of many. We often forget or maybe some don’t even know that we have a Father in Heaven who cares about EVERY detail of our lives.❤️ From the boring, mundane tasks that keep us playing busy on repeat, to the deepest concerns surrounding our most precious loves, God‘s loving Hand holds us together & guides our steps... if we let Him. 👣 A story in 2 Kings 6 tells of God’s eye on the tiny details: a group of prophets go to collect wood to build a new meeting place. As they are working to chop wood near the Jordan River, one man loses the head of his ax in the river. Immediately he tells his problem to the man of God, Elisha. The ax was borrowed.😳 The man of God hears the problem, and produces a miracle to fix it. He makes the iron ax head FLOAT to the top of the river. It’s recovered!🎉 Who cares? Jesus! I cannot tell you how many times I have been tempted to panic over something misplaced. But then I remember: my Father in Heaven wants to hear from me and He knows exactly where that lost thing is. This gets me to thinking, if He is faithful in little things like my misplaced keys, he probably cares about my health, my finances, my relationships, my family. Many times in the daily worry about these things, I forget to go to Him first.

I want to be like David in Psalm 142… he cries out to God, telling Him the trouble. 🙏🏻 In verse 3, he prays, “When I overwhelmed, You alone know the way I should turn.”

He talks about the traps of his enemies and how no one else is there for him, but then he makes this beautiful proclamation in verse 5, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.”

David knows that the Lord is the only One who can help him & make him free anyway. I love the end where he says that he is eventually surrounded by the godly. Is this because of his godly example that he draws faithful people to him or were they there all along praying for him without his knowledge? God knew what he needed, and He knows what you need too.🥰
